A new OTA update is now available for the CarPlay AI Box HE PRO ULTRA.

This release brings two major upgrades — split-screen support for the DVR app and stereo audio for HDMI input — along with improvements to audio/video sync and YouTube when using HDMI output.

These updates are based on both our ongoing testing and feedback from customers using HE PRO ULTRA in different vehicles and setups.

Here’s what’s new.

What’s New in This Update

We’ve also made two additional improvements:

• Audio/Video Sync: A new audio delay setting lets you fine-tune synchronization between the picture and sound.
• YouTube with HDMI Output: We’ve addressed an issue that could cause YouTube to automatically switch to a small floating window when different content was being shown on the main display and an HDMI-connected display.

01 | The DVR App Now Works in Split Screen

HE PRO ULTRA has one AV-IN port that can be used with either of two optional cameras:

Front DVR Camera
For viewing and recording the road ahead.

Rear-Seat Monitoring Camera
For keeping an eye on the rear seats — especially useful for checking on kids without constantly turning around.

Both cameras connect to the same AV-IN port and work through the built-in DVR app, where you can view the live feed, take screenshots, and record video.

Because HE PRO ULTRA has one AV-IN port, only one camera can be connected at a time. You can choose whichever camera makes the most sense for how you use your vehicle.

So, What’s Changed?

Previously, if you were viewing your camera feed in the DVR app and wanted to check Google Maps or another app, you had to switch between them.

With this update, the DVR app can now be used in split screen.

For example, you can run:

Front DVR Camera + Google Maps

Keep the live road view on one side while following your route on the other.

Or:

Rear-Seat Monitoring Camera + Google Maps

Keep navigation visible while checking the rear-seat camera at the same time.

You can also pair the DVR app with YouTube or other apps that support split-screen mode.

It’s a relatively simple change, but one that makes the camera accessories much more useful in everyday driving. You no longer have to choose between keeping the camera feed visible and using another compatible app.

This was also something we heard from customers, so we’re glad to have it included in this release.

Note: Split-screen support also depends on whether the other app supports split-screen mode.

02 | HDMI Input Now Supports Stereo Audio

We’ve also upgraded the audio experience when using HDMI input.

HE PRO ULTRA has an HDMI input that lets you connect compatible HDMI devices and bring their video and audio onto your in-car display.

Until now, audio coming through HDMI input was processed in mono.

With this update, that changes to:

Mono → Stereo

HDMI input can now play left and right stereo audio, giving you a more complete sound experience when watching videos, playing games, or using other HDMI devices.

It’s a behind-the-scenes change, but if you use HDMI input regularly, it can make a noticeable difference.

We want HDMI input to do more than simply work with external devices — we want the experience to feel right when you actually use it.

03 | A Few More Improvements

Along with the two updates above, this release includes two smaller changes based on real-world use.

Adjustable Audio Delay

We’ve added a new setting that lets you adjust audio delay.

If the picture and sound aren’t perfectly in sync, you can fine-tune the delay to better match your setup.

Because factory head units handle video and audio differently from vehicle to vehicle, the results can vary depending on your car and system performance.

Better YouTube Behavior with HDMI Output

We’ve also made an improvement for users who use HDMI output to show different content on the main display and an external screen.

In some cases, YouTube could automatically switch into a small floating window when using this setup.

This behavior has been optimized with the new update, making it smoother to use YouTube while running different content across the two displays.

How to Update Your HE PRO ULTRA

This OTA update is only for the CarPlay AI Box HE PRO ULTRA.

The new version is:

On your HE PRO ULTRA, open:

FOTA Updates → Check for Updates → Download and Install

Check that the version shown matches the one above, then follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.

A Few Important Things Before You Start

Keep the Power Connected

Your HE PRO ULTRA needs to stay powered throughout the entire update, including the download, installation, and restart.

Do not unplug or power off the device while it is updating.

Losing power during an update can interrupt the installation and may cause the system to stop working properly.

We recommend updating only when your vehicle can provide a stable power supply.

Stay Connected to the Internet

The update files are downloaded over the internet, so make sure you have a stable network connection before you begin.

Keep the device connected until the entire update is finished.

Let the Update Finish Completely

The update may take some time depending on your network connection.

Your HE PRO ULTRA may restart automatically during installation. That’s normal.

Wait until the update is fully complete and the system has restarted before disconnecting the device.

More Updates, More Improvements

We’re always looking for ways to make our products work better in everyday use.

Sometimes that means adding a new feature. Sometimes it’s improving something that’s already there. And sometimes it’s a smaller change — like fixing an app behavior or improving compatibility — that simply makes the product easier to use.

Many of those improvements come from our own testing, but customer feedback also plays an important part. Once a product is being used across different cars, head units, apps, and setups, we get a much clearer picture of where the experience can be improved.

This HE PRO ULTRA update is a good example: DVR split screen, stereo HDMI input audio, adjustable audio delay, and improved HDMI output behavior all address specific ways the product is being used in the real world.

And we’re not only doing this for HE PRO ULTRA.

We’ll continue working on software updates, compatibility, and feature improvements across the OneCarStereo lineup. For products that support OTA/FOTA updates, we’ll continue releasing improvements where possible based on the hardware, system compatibility, and how the products are actually being used.
